Yes, we do have a Rock and Mineral Department in our Pet Supply
Store. How does that fit in, you ask? Well, I could stretch the logic
and say we have a Wildlife Dept and that's nature related and so are the
minerals.
The real reason is that Dan, one of the owners, has rocks in his
head, figuratively, and maybe actually, and has been a rock collector
for over 40 years. He enjoys sharing his hobby and knowledge of minerals
with the public.
The variety and quality of many of the minerals are museum quality.
Many of the minerals are acquired at the International Rock, Mineral and
Gem Show held in Tucson, Arizona. This is the world's largest mineral
show.
Dan and his wife, Paulette, have done extensive rock hounding in
Brazil, Mexico, Maine, New Mexico, California, Alaska, and Arkansas,
just to name a few places.
